Hi, and welcome.

These archives have been stripped of all non-essential info to leave you with the more important articles. Read and enjoy.

***The Newbie Trail***

You Must Have Perse-verance.
by: Ed Bellamy.

Making a living on the Internet for some is very
easy, but for the beginners it can be a daunting
up hill task.

Some beginners get expert coaching and are
prepared to spend a lot of money obtaining the
best programs and the best technicians to set
them up.

But in the real world, the rest of us are penny
pinching. Operating on a shoe-string. Buying that
cheap digi-script here, or that free ebook there.

Then we discover the top free search engines,
ain't free anymore. And what's this PPC
(Pay Per Click) or P*ss Poor Cash if you get it
wrong, thing-a-me-jig they're all talking about.

Well, all will be revealed, but sorry, not all of it
today. If your finances are on a shoe-string...
then maybe I can help.

Now, I want you to make yourself a promise.
You see, one of the things we all seem to do
as a newbie (and I was no exception), is to
take-on more programs or projects than you can
handle at any one time.

You get so fed-up with your current program, or see
another one with a fabulous sales letter, you
end-up convincing yourself that this latest program
or script is better than the other, and is the one that
is going to make you your desired fortune.

So what happens? You career off the rails a little.

You must STOP and think about what you are
doing. Make a decision and tell yourself that it's
only one program you're going to deal with first.
Otherwise you will get confused, lose track or
even worse.

Now repeat after me:

I promise, I will pick one program or script and do
all that I need to do, to extract and put to good
use, all the information that is needed to prove or
disprove, that this program or script does all that
it says it will do... Dib-Dib-Dob :-)

Don't get distracted, be the master of your
direction, it will pay you dividends in the end.

There's a long road ahead, one that could be
pathed with gold if you get it right, or
frustratingly expensive if you get it wrong.

Don't give up if your first program or script
doesn't work out. It may be this one didn't suit
your project. Maybe it didn't suit you personally,
you just couldn't get on with it.

Whatever the trouble, don't beat yourself around
the head, just bin that one, see if you can get
your money back (well they did promise),
and start another.

Do your research first, seek advice, and before
you know-it, you'll be seeing results.

It's all a question of desire, research, tolerance
and perseverance. If you've got all of these,
the rest comes easy.

May the net be with you!

***Titbit of The Week***

--------------------------------------
"Some usefull Resources"
--------------------------------------

The Internet is full of free resources that can help
you both learn and promote. Here are a list of
resources that can do just that.

One of the first hurdles a new online marketer has to
get over is their site. Of course you can pay someone
to design it, but when it comes to making changes it
can become quite expensive, and believe me, you'll
you'll make a lot of changes.

So I definitely recommend making an effort to learn
a bit of HTML in order to build and/or make changes
to your site. You don't have to become an expert at
HTML but knowing the basics, will help.

There are a number of free resources online, all of
which can help you with how basic HTML works

- HTML Tutorials in Web Design
<http://www.bfree.on.ca/HTML/index.htm>
- HTML Help
<http://www.htmlhelp.com>

There are free sites that can also help you check
if your HTML code and other operations of your site
are working:

If you want to check or enhance the effectiveness
of the Meta Tags on your site, which is crucial for
the promotion of your site through the search engines,
this site can analyze your tags and make suggestions
for free. Highly recommended:

Once your page or site is ready to go, you'll need to
get it registered with the main search engines and
submit it on a regular basis.
These sites offer free registration:

Here are some sites where you can get free resources
to enhance your site and increase traffic:

Build free banners/graphics:

A Lesson from The Masters - by John Colanzi
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Remember when you were growing up and an adult
would do something that contradicted what they'd
been telling you?

Their first response would be, "Do as I say, not as I do."

Well, forget the number.

We learn more through observation than we could
ever learn by listening.

So what does that have to do with marketing?

Everything.

If you think you're going to build your business by
listening to pearls of wisdom and following what
all the successful marketers are trying to tell you,
forget about it.

You'll learn 100 times more by having the eyes of
a hawk.

The old martial arts masters knew that.
Their students learned by watching their moves
and trying to mimic them.

The Zen masters talk about it when they say,
"He has the smell of books."

The same thing applies on the battlefield.

Do you want to have your life in the hands
of a college educated officer, or someone who's
been in the trenches.

The same rules apply to building your online business.

Stop listening to what the heavy hitters say and
start watching what they do.

Many times we hear the same advice from a ton
of experts, but if we watch closely we may see
that sometimes what they say doesn't match what
they do.

What are you going to build your business by,
their words or their actions?

As far as I'm concerned "Actions Speak Louder
Than Words."

Do you want to write better ads?

Study the ads that pull.

Want to write better articles and reports?

Study the ones that get read.

I think you get the idea.

Become an observer of successful actions.
Keep your eyes open and start taking notes
on what really works.

The Internet is a powerful learning tool.
Everything is in the open for you to absorb.

It's a free apprenticeship.

Do as they say, not as they do.

Wishing You Success, John Colanzi
